From TDI, we teach technical scuba classes. Technical divers go beyond recreational diving. These divers can dive deeper, farther, higher, and more overhead, and may use more complex gas mixtures to meet narcosis or decompression requirements. You are a skilled diver who wants to explore the depths of the pool. This is the way to get there. We offer Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox, Deco Procedures and Trimix. Advanced Trimix is also available. We can provide a fun class with an expert instructor in the field, using only the best gear at fully inclusive prices.
Our instructors strive for excellence in diving and are committed to maintaining the highest standards in the field. There are many choices available when it comes time to train, but your safety should always come first. Our staff have combined more than 50+ years experience in teaching others how to safely dive into the ocean. Our philosophy of Only The Best Training means that we work closely with you to reach your goals. You will have an enjoyable experience in the pool and open water.
Even if you can’t physically explore the world, we hope that you enjoy the escape our site provides. Keep your spirits up and your hands clean. There will be time to travel soon enough.
Our threshold to offshore diving is greater than 8 miles from St Andrew's Pass. These sites require advanced certification. A Nitrox certificate would also be an option due to the depths and open water. These trips aren't available every day because of the distances involved. It's best to check with your dive shop to find out when the next trip is scheduled. If you plan to go with friends who are well qualified, they may be able to schedule one for you.
Mexico Beach Artificial Reef Association, Florida Wildlife Commission and others compiled a report to assess the impacts on the coral reefs. They discovered that the Varmar reef (not shown in our dive map, as it is off Mexico Beach), suffered the greatest impact because it was only 25' deep. However, artificial reefs in medium and deep water remained intact. Below is a graph from that report showing how Hurricane Michael passed through Panama City Beach's reefs and wrecks.
St Andrew's Park's sugar sand beaches and Shell Island's snow-white sand are breathtaking. You can take dolphin cruises, and you'll find attractions like Pier Park and Shipwreck Island for land-lovers. Evenings are a great time to enjoy some of the most delicious fresh seafood. The Firefly shecrab soup is our favorite! You can enjoy golden sunsets with turquoise blue water.
At Scuba Dive Panama City Beach we limit dive trips to just 14 scuba divers to ensure comfort and space for everyone. All of our charters are open to the public if there is space and we usually run 2 trips a day during the season.
Never hold your breath
As every good entry-level dive student knows, this is the most important rule of scuba. And for good reason — breath holding underwater can result in serious injury and even death. In accordance with Boyle's law, the air in a diver's lungs expands during ascent and contracts during descent.
As you become a qualified scuba diver, you learn the basics of an essential scuba system. A cylinder, weights, an exposure suit, regulators, BCD gauge and timing device, mask and fins are the bare essentials.
